Eat to Lose Weight!
As a Weight Loss Coach I have learned what works and what doesn't work as far as losing weight in a healthy manner. It is not about starving yourself - you have to EAT!! You can't lose weight and keep it off by not eating. This may work in your 20's but ultimately it comes back to bite you when your metabolism is in the trash when you are in your 30's and 40's - then you blame it on giving birth or getting older. Whatever.. the fact is - you messed up your body now it is in survival mode - storing fat for dear life. I saw too many women who exercised continuously and did not eat regularly who were FAT. That makes no sense - right? Calories in calories out - right? Not if your body has been starved and abused. If you don't feed your body with proper nutrition and then work it to death - what do you think your body is going to do? Lose weight at the risk of you not being able to survive? No - the body is going to store fat so every bite that you eat is "saved" and you have stored energy in case your body doesn't get fed in a while. This is called "survival mode". You may also call it a slowed metabolism. Whatever you call it - it will not have you looking so great. So EAT - eat protein and complex carbs and fruits and veggies all day. Exercise, drink water and eat some more. Eating does not include cakes, cookies and shoveling potato chips in your mouth! The more you eat during the day the less you will feel compelled to stuff your face with fattening junk food and the less hungry you will be at night. Start tomorrow off with a healthy breakfast, pack a snack for mid morning, have a healthy lunch then a great dinner and send the message to your body that you are taking care of yourself. Over time your body won't find it necessary to store fat any longer and the fat will melt away...
